The role of the Arena, Parks Manager is to oversee the operation and maintenance of both the ice arena, parks and trail system throughout the district. The Arena, Parks Manager prepares budgets (both operational and capital) schedules union staff, meets with various user groups to find out
their needs and tries to fulfill those needs.

Vanderhoof's ice arena, or known as the 'bear's den' is home to the local hockey teams.

During the winter months the Vanderhoof Arena is normally open from 6:00am until 12:00am 7 days a week from the beginning of October to mid March for ice related events.

During the summer months the arena is open to the public from 8:00am - 4:00pm throughout the week with special events booked for evenings and weekends though the Arena Booking Manager. The arena is a great place to hold a wedding, family reunion, dance, social event and much much more.

Contact the Manager for hourly rate for the ice season and for the summer dry floor.

LED Signs

To get a message on the LED message sign is as simple as emailing the message to the Arena Booking Manager. Please keep in mind that the message must be family friendly and the District of Vanderhoof has the right to refuse any message that it deems not appropriate. Start and end dates as well as contact information must be provided at the time of request.

Parks & Playgrounds

Vanderhoof is home to a number of parks and playgrounds for residents and visitors alike. The Municipality also operates a 38 site campground at Riverside Park, along the banks of the Nechako River. Learn more
