Our recently completed Economic Development Strategy states that the District and Council will be an organization that serves the needs of residents and businesses alike. We will promote the community, facilitating a positive environment for existing businesses and encouraging new business development. We will continue to advocate for new and improved local infrastructure, like a new Aquatic Centre, and establish programs and partnerships that contribute to a sustainable and diversified economy.

We are the Heart of it All offering affordable housing, reasonable tax rates, great education, superior health services, access to government services and a strong retail and service sector. We are rich in culture, history, natural resources and recreational opportunities abound.

Located on Highway 16 at the Geographical Centre of the Province, we are an ideal spot to raise a family, operate a business or, if you are ready, to retire!

This is an exciting time for Vanderhoof, should you have any question or comments, contact me, Mayor Gerry Thiessen, at mayor@district.vanderhoof.ca.
